Client Overview
BG Factor Cyprus is a news and community portal for Bulgarians living in Cyprus. Since 2014 it has published news from Cyprus, Bulgaria and the world, culture listings, interviews, sport, horoscopes and classified ads. Its archive now holds more than 5,900 articles in 59 categories.
Client’s Challenge
- A limited free theme: the homepage only listed the latest posts.
- One language: part of the audience and partners speak English and Greek.
- A large archive: thousands of articles and images weigh on performance.
Objectives
- A modern homepage organised by topic.
- Multilingual content in Bulgarian, English and Greek.
- Advertising and classifieds that are easy to manage.
- A faster site despite the archive.

Strategy and Solution
Research and Analysis
We reviewed the portal’s structure, the most-read sections and the newsroom’s needs, so we could keep what worked and modernise the rest without losing content.
Strategy
Instead of a rebuild we chose modernisation: the premium version of the same theme, a new block-based homepage and upgraded features, so thousands of articles stay where they are.
Implementation
- Premium theme: from MH Magazine Lite to the full MH Magazine.
- New homepage with 10 zones, a slider and topic blocks.
- Three languages with TranslatePress.
- Refreshed look: new header and background, updated About, Classifieds and Contact pages.
- Classifieds and ads: a classified-ads module and ad-placement management.
- Media: galleries, a YouTube channel feed and the Facebook page on the site.
- Speed: WP Rocket, server-side caching and custom DomGrid image-optimisation modules.
Ongoing Maintenance and Support
DomGrid continues to host and maintain the portal with updates, Cloudflare Turnstile form protection and regular performance work.
