Client Overview
REFOREST is a Horizon Europe project (grant agreement No. 101060635) promoting agroforestry, integrating trees into farming, across Europe for food, climate and biodiversity. It works through a network of Living Labs on farms in eight countries. The website was built for Europroject, the consortium’s communication partner, with DomGrid delivering design, development, hosting and maintenance.
Client’s Challenge
- Many languages: the audience is farmers, researchers and policymakers across Europe.
- Many results: deliverables, tools, recommendations, publications and videos had to be easy to find.
- A farm network: every Living Lab needed its own presentation.
- EU requirements for visibility and dissemination.
Objectives
- A site in 9 languages with easy translation upkeep.
- A results library organised by type.
- An interactive map of the Living Labs.
- Events with online registration.
Strategy and Solution
Research and Analysis
We organised content around how each audience looks for information: farmers want practical examples, researchers want publications and deliverables, policymakers want recommendations.
Strategy
A clear structure with separate sections for results, Living Labs and events, and page-level translation so the team can maintain languages on its own.
Implementation
- Design and build with Astra Pro and Elementor Pro in the project’s green identity.
- 9 languages (EN, DE, FR, ES, DA, HU, CS, BG, NL) with TranslatePress.
- Living Labs: 16 farm pages across 8 countries and an interactive Image Map Pro map.
- Results library: 130+ downloads including deliverables, tools, policy recommendations, practice abstracts and publications.
- Events: a calendar with registration forms.
- Newsletter via Mailchimp.
- Security and SEO: Defender Pro, SmartCrawl and Cloudflare Turnstile.
Ongoing Maintenance and Support
Since 2022 DomGrid has hosted and maintained the site and supported the team with new results, events and languages.

Summary
The REFOREST website is the central home for the project’s results: multilingual, well organised and easy for the team to maintain, while meeting EU dissemination requirements.
