Client Overview
SWARM-E is an EU co-funded project (No. 101146291) bringing affordable, sustainable energy to last-mile communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. A consortium of 16 organisations from Europe, Africa and Asia runs 5 pilots in Rwanda and Tanzania: interconnected solar grids, water purification, light electric vehicles and hydrogen for cooking. The site was built for Europroject, a consortium partner, with DomGrid handling development, hosting and maintenance.
Client’s Challenge
- A complex subject: technology and pilots had to be explained clearly to a broad audience.
- A large consortium: 16 partners, each needing a presence.
- EU requirements: work packages, deliverables, press releases and a communication kit had to be public.
Objectives
- A strong visual story of the project’s mission.
- Clear sections for technology, pilots, partners and results.
- A fast site despite rich imagery, usable on weaker connections.

Strategy and Solution
Research and Analysis
We organised the content around the visitor’s questions: what the project does, where, with whom and what it delivers.
Strategy
We built the site as a narrative, from mission and technology to pilots and partners, with a dedicated area for project documents.
Implementation
- Design and build in Elementor Pro in the project’s orange and blue identity.
- Sections: Technology, Pilot Sites, Partners with interviews, Work Packages and Deliverables, Synergies.
- Publications: policy papers, press releases and newsletters, some as interactive flipbooks.
- Communication kit and downloads.
- Performance: image optimisation and caching with Hummingbird and Smush.
- Security: Defender Pro and Cloudflare Turnstile.
Ongoing Maintenance and Support
Since 2024 DomGrid has hosted and maintained the site, adding new results and materials with the team.

Final Results and Summary
Outcomes
- A clear project story: 5 pilots and targets of 6.9 GWh of energy, 3,200 batteries saved and 500+ jobs.
- 16 partners presented in one place.
- Dissemination requirements met.
- A fast, secure site.
Summary
The SWARM-E website turns a technically complex project into a clear story about clean energy and gives the consortium one home for all its results.
