Client Overview
TCKP Varna is a vocational training centre licensed by Bulgaria’s National Agency for Vocational Education and Training, with more than 20 years of experience and over 8,500 certificates issued. It trains people in occupational safety, electrical safety, operating hazardous equipment such as cranes, forklifts and boilers, and English for professional purposes. The project was funded under the EU programme Digitalisation of Enterprises (BG16RFPR001-1.012).
Client’s Challenge
- In-person only: courses required physical attendance.
- Complex rules: registration needs certificate and invoicing details.
- Sensitive data: learners’ documents had to be stored securely.
- Corporate clients train whole teams and want progress reports.
- EU visibility requirements for the funding.
Objectives
- An online academy where a course is bought, taken and completed online.
- Card and bank-transfer payments.

Strategy and Solution
Research and Analysis
We mapped the full journey of a learner and of a company, from choosing a course through payment, training and exam to the certificate, and turned each step into a feature.
Strategy
Proven platforms, LearnDash for learning and WooCommerce for sales, extended with custom modules wherever off-the-shelf tools fell short.
Implementation
- Platform: LearnDash LMS and WooCommerce, with each course sold as a product.
- Payments: card and bank transfer, with invoice details at checkout.
- 20 custom modules (around 9,000 lines of code), including:
- ERP sync: a two-way connection with the centre’s ERP/CRM.
- SCORM 1.2 and H5P interactive content and quizzes.
- Certificates with a verification code.
- Live sessions via Zoom and Google Meet.
- Progress reminder emails.
- For companies: a competency matrix by department with export, and group discounts.
- Security: encryption of sensitive data, a secure document vault and a data-retention policy.
- Learner forum and two languages, Bulgarian and English.
- EU funding visibility built in.
Ongoing Maintenance and Support
DomGrid hosts and maintains the academy and helps the centre add new courses.

- 10 online courses with 25 lessons and 9 quizzes.
- Fully online training, from purchase to certificate.
- Automatic ERP sync with no manual entry.

Summary
The online academy turned TCKP Varna into a digital training centre: learners study from anywhere, companies track their teams, and the centre works with data that syncs automatically.
